Strategic Plan
CAC-Porto aims to strengthen the qualifications of health professionals and the scientific development in health research, in particular through increasing collaboration between CHUSJ and FMUP (including its affiliated hospitals and integrated research units).
With this, we aim to (i) improve the coordination and integration of CAC-Porto activities, (ii) encourage new advanced education and training programs targeting healthcare professionals’ needs and improve pre-graduate experiences in clinical environment, (iii) promote the diversification of funding sources for research and innovation projects, (iv) strengthen knowledge transfer and technological innovation, (v) increase patient engagement and societal impact.
To help implement the strategic plan, CAC-Porto relies on the close articulation with existing structures in FMUP (e.g. Knowledge Management Unit, Academic Management Unit, Communication Management Unit) and in CHUSJ (e.g. Clinical Trials and Research Unit, Clinical Production Areas, Ethics Committee). However, additional resources will be needed to reinforce the mission, including a research fundraising specialist (to help to identify and support funding opportunities within the European Union and other countries), a financial manager (for project management) and a clinical research assistant (to monitor clinical studies and organise information).
